Warner Center Marriott Woodland Hills

I'm egregiously late sharing some well-deserved KUDOS for Felipe at the front desk of the Warner Center Marriott. Earlier this year, I had issues with making a reservation through my work travel agency that resulted in me having two separate reservations, with a day in between in which there was no availability. Having to check out for one day and check back in would have been massively inconvenient, not to mention expensive. When I arrived and checked in, I explained my situation to the front desk person who didn't really seem to know how best to help me. So, she went and got Felipe from the back. While he wasn't able to fix the situation right then, he said he would continue to work on it, and get back to me. Within an hour, I received a call from Felipe and he had fixed everything! I now had ONE reservation including all the days, AND he had been able to secure me the same room for that one day in between. I don't know how he was able to do it, but he obviously really understands the reservation system, and more importantly, he was laser focused on making my experience positive. I gave him a nice tip for his effort, but I also wanted to ensure he received recognition from the management team there. He is a real asset to your property!

Stayed for one night on business and have no complaints! Staff were friendly and attentive. Hotel is very nice and location is close to restaurants and a large shopping mall. Room was clean and a decent size. Mattress felt medium firm and I slept well. Water pressure was fantastic! There’s a Starbucks, bar and restaurant on premise. Pools and jacuzzis. Large parking garage connected to the property—self parking is $28/by & valet is $32. Overall, very pleasant stay!

I have a habit when staying at hotels: I always look for one thing that makes me remember the place a week later. Unfortunately, Warner Center Marriott Woodland Hills gave me the opposite experience. Nothing was terrible, but almost nothing stood out either. The lobby looks impressive when you first walk in, yet the excitement fades quickly. The room was comfortable enough, but it felt like it had been designed by a committee whose goal was to make sure nobody would ever have a strong opinion about anything. The strange part is that Woodland Hills itself has character. The surrounding area has energy, restaurants, shopping, and beautiful California weather. Every time I returned to the hotel, I felt like I was leaving the interesting part of my day behind. Maybe my expectations were too high because of the Marriott name. I expected a place that would add something to the trip. Instead, it simply existed in the background. Not bad, not great, just there. The bed was comfortable, I slept well, and I had no major issues. Yet when I checked out, I realized I had more memories of the parking lot and nearby restaurants than of the hotel itself. If you’re looking for a place to spend the night, it will do the job. If you’re looking for a hotel that becomes part of the experience, you may leave feeling the same way I did—slightly underwhelmed and wondering why such a well-known property feels so forgettable.
