Ike's Love & Sandwiches

While in Austin we stopped in at @ikessandwiches – Great Hills (Austin, TX) Ike’s Love & Sandwiches is a go-to spot for bold, overstuffed sandwiches with tons of personality. The shop has a fun, casual vibe, a big menu with creative names, and plenty of options for meat lovers and vegetarians alike. Multiple items on the menu are Halal aswell. Everything is made to order, and the Dutch Crunch bread with Ike’s signature Dirty Sauce really sets these sandwiches apart. We ordered the #9 Name of the Girl I’m Dating, #6 Hot Momma Huda, and #1 Elvis Kieth, and all three sandwiches were fresh and absolutely delicious. The bread was perfectly toasted, the ingredients tasted high-quality, and every bite was packed with flavor. The meats were generous, the toppings were well-balanced, and the sauces tied everything together without overpowering the sandwich. You can tell everything is made fresh, and the consistency across all three orders was impressive. Overall, this Ike’s location delivers exactly what you expect—big, flavorful sandwiches that hit the spot.

Love this spot! I messed up an order, totally my fault, and they went above and beyond to help me out. Really and truly so kind. The sandwiches are amazing, I get a menage a trois and do double meet and I don’t have to eat for the rest of the day

As a former Bay Area resident, Ike’s didn't exist back when I lived there, so I wasn't sure what to expect. But growing up loving Little Lucca in South San Francisco, I have spent years missing authentic Dutch crunch bread. This place hit the absolute sweet spot. The sandwich brought back a flood of memories of living in SSF—that perfect, classic crunch is the real deal. On top of the nostalgia, the menu is massive, and I love that so many of the creations are named after my favorite San Francisco pro players. I will absolutely be back to try more of the menu. If you're missing a true taste of the Bay, this is it!

WOW! I was not expecting to want to write a review about a sandwich shop, but here we are. I was craving a sandwich and stumbled upon Ike’s by chance. At first, I was slightly overwhelmed by the huge menu, but the inventive variety is incredible— I definitely want to come back to try more! I settled on the #18 with what I assume is Dutch crunch bread and the default dirty sauce with lettuce and tomatoes. I felt like it took a little longer than other fast-food sandwich joints to craft this delicious meal, but it was well worth it! I also thought the prices were a little on the high side, paying homage to the chain’s California roots; however, this was justified by the quality. Definitely worth checking out if you have one in your area. I also think this would be a great lunch catering option for an office or something… didn’t snap a photo.

I wanted to like this place and I hope it’s just because I chose a sandwich that I didn’t care for, but to say that you make your sandwich with fried chicken to then bite into a squished spongy chicken tender is definitely a mass misrepresentation. Flavor profile was cool the bread being slightly sweet was unique, but overall, I won’t be trusting suggested favorites. Then, when it came to paying the tap or insert wasn’t working and the staff had to type my card in which I wasn’t necessarily comfortable with, but that was the only form of payment I wanted to use at the time. The staff is cool and the layout of the place is nice.
